POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the co-CEO’s and working as a key member of the company’s leadership team. The CFO will be responsible for leading the accounting and financial functions, performing business analytics, recognizing and improving areas of financial inefficiency, building and maintaining corporate relationships, managing information technology, and advising on partnership matters. Must have experience working in a private, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. CFO must be a strong leader capable of scaling business processes to accommodate rapid growth. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Accounting

  • Create and maintain accounting policies, procedures and controls
  • Daily review and update of batch entry for invoicing/AP/AR/cash receipts
  • Managing accounting staff
  • Review and approve month end journal entries and monthly close process
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll
  • Review and approve bank and credit card reconciliations

 

Business Analytics

  • Create monthly executive reporting and present to co-CEO’s
  • Identify company key performance indicators and implement reporting to capture them properly
  • Advise partners and assist in setting business and financial goals and progress reporting
  • Forecasting and projecting annual expectations, variance analysis, and trend recognition
  • Coordinate with auditors to ensure timely issue of annual report
  • Provide financial analysis as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, contract negotiations, and balance sheet account reconciliation and analysis

 

Corporate Relationships

  • Maintaining and expanding relationships with banks, attorneys, and benefits providers
  • Recognizing potential needs for changes in these areas
  • Researching and recommending future relationships needed as company continues to scale

 

Information Technology

  • Managing IT staff
  • Understanding open projects and assisting in company-wide prioritization of IT resource usage
  • Guiding IT staff in project management including setting of milestones and progress reviews

 

Cash Management

  • Review balances in all accounts and ensure proper allocation of funds for daily operating
  • Review and approve outbound wires for payment of foreign vendors
  • Allocation of accruals for year-end expenses

 

Ongoing Projects

  • Negotiations of the benefit and 401K plans and packages offered
  • Ensure 401K matches are correctly calculated, annual matches made and ensure plan changes are implemented
  • Lease negotiation as necessary
  • Preparation of quarterly tax projections and annual tax return preparation
  • Annual tax returns completed and filed accurately

 

 

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

 

Experience Required

  • 10 to 15 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of five years of experience in a leadership capacity
  • Must have experience working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Experience in a tangible product distribution or manufacturing industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business administration
  • Experience and knowledge of Cost Accounting
  • Have served most recently in a CFO or similar capacity
  • Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliation, financial analysis, financial statements, bank reconciliation, payroll processes, and cost accounting
  • Expert use of financial reporting tools and software

 

Experience Preferred

  • Experience with MAS 90, MAS 200, and/or Sage 100 accounting systems (highly preferred)
  • Experience with Salesforce.com or a similar CRM and process management system

 

CPA

Product/Industrial Designer – West Coast

This position is responsible for new packaging development at Fusion from inception to design. We are looking for a Product/Industrial Designer that will work directly with the internal design team to develop new innovative concepts through sketching, 3D modeling, rendering, and prototyping. The designer in this position will be working on internal innovation as well as customer projects with guidance of the design team.

 

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Works closely with marketing, sales, account management, operations, and design teams to establish product requirements, and creates manufacturable designs
  • Works closely with Project Managers to achieve specific design goals for customer

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Comfortable quickly communicating through hand sketching and Illustrator/Photoshop renderings.
  • Has an eye for what is beautiful and their finger on the pulse of what is trending today
  • Can build complicated multi-part products in Solidworks and render in Keyshot
  • Provides solutions necessary to achieve innovative designs

 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS 

  • Expert level using Solidworks required (minimum 3+ years’ experience, post-school)
  • Experienced designing manufacturable designs for injected plastics required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design or Structural Package Design
  • Free to work unencumbered by a previous non-compete agreement
  • 3+ years’ experience in product design, post-school
  • Capable using Illustrator and Photoshop

Controller

The Controller will be a key member of the Finance and Accounting team and is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting and finance functions, month-end close and regulatory compliance.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform regular variance analysis and provide written and verbal explanations to management
  • Production and distribution of weekly management reports
  • Perform month-end close and monthly financial package reporting
  • Perform periodic internal audits to ensure the existence and maintenance of an appropriate control environment.

 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Lead the day-to-day accounting functions (Cost, Inventory)
  • Establish and maintain the company’s accounting policies and procedures, ensuring GAAP is followed
  • Prepare financial reports and present findings to management
  • Provide cost data as required
  • Responsible for organizing, supervising and executing the monthly closing process
  • Responsible for integrity of financial systems and processes including account reconciliations
  • Financial analysis of operations
  • Ensuring compliance with the company’s accounting practices
  • Develop, analyze, and interpret statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other measures of the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in Accounting or Finance
  • Expert Excel skills including use of Pivot tables and V-Lookups
  • Full understanding of accounting and GAAP with experience in cost accounting
  • Cost accounting experience including Bill of Materials, Labor and Overhead accounting.

Sample Room Coordinator

The purpose of this role is to provide administrative support and daily coordination for Fusion Packaging’s Dallas-based sampling and courier operations. Accurate, independent, and repeatable daily duties in this position are critical to overall company success.

The Sample Room Coordinator ensures that sample needs of customers, sales reps, and product development departments are met in a timely and professional manner.  Additionally, the position requires management of on-hand inventory and processing sample orders to restock the sample room as needed.

 

ORGANIZATIONAL STATUS

  • Reports to the Purchasing & Logistics Manager

 

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Works with Fusion China operations and logistics to coordinate customer orders and shipments, and to ensure that all processing samples are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Works with Account Managers as the liaison with the China Office regarding sample request and completing any new shipments to current or prospective clients.
  • Works with Accounting and the Purchasing & Logistics Coordinator with any sample shipping receipts through FedEx, UPS and DHL.

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organize and manage Dallas physical sample room
  • Label and catalog sample room inventory
  • Receive inbound sample packages. Check contents, distribute to team members, and inventory as necessary
  • Prioritize and complete outbound sample requests generated by sales team
  • Create, pack, and ship outbound courier packages for customers and Fusion satellite offices
  • Assist operations manager with reporting projects such as sample inventory cycle counts, general data review, and data cleanup

The Director of Product Development for Fusion Accelerate is the key leader responsible for the overall formulation portfolio created specifically for Fusion Accelerate and ensures the successful execution of all new product launches and the competitive position of the overall portfolio. The main objective of this position is to create an ongoing pipeline of innovative skincare and hybrid products. As a turnkey solution provider, Product Development must work hand in hand with the packaging division to ensure innovation in both formula and packaging. The Director of Product Development for Fusion Accelerate will be responsible for ensuring all products are launched on time and with high quality and will actively seek out new trends and opportunities that will further support and provide growth to Fusion Accelerate.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain keen awareness of global skincare, color and industry trends to create ongoing pipeline of next level products
  • Manage tracking and reporting of beauty trends, looks and industry competitive launches primarily in skincare and complexion
  • Work with packaging and creative team with regards to packaging portfolio and new package ideation to create and evaluate new formulas and technologies
  • Maintain and manage competitive product and shade library and landscapes
  • Attend trade shows to keep abreast of innovation and news
  • Investigate and recommend new product development opportunities based on current research and trends
  • Make portfolio/NPD recommendations based on trends, category expertise & white space opportunity
  • Translate industry and skincare trends into viable product concepts that complement the portfolio strategy to ensure a robust pipeline
  • Applies strategic thinking throughout ideation, conceptualization and commercialization phases
  • Able to balance strategic thinking around the business need with the aesthetic so that NPD fits into the strategic framework
  • Navigate and understand the COG’s, P & L and how they impact the business from a product and category level to the brand level
  • Work with Third Party Manufacturers to create and commercialize concepts and confirming manufacturing capabilities
  • Manage Third Party Manufacturers development and testing for all sampling to ensure products are stable
  • Understands fundamentals of all phases of product development and has strong skincare category expertise.
  • Creates and distributes Product Development Briefs, providing specific direction to R& D regarding product attributes and expectations for NPD.
  • Oversees the evaluation and direction of formula submissions from lab to production.
  • Partner with the packaging team to develop appropriate delivery system and aesthetic for all products. Review and manage all package submissions
  • Finalize and approve all formulas
  • Collaborate on the development of key product claims and partner with the testing lab to ensure claims are delivered

 

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • 5-10 years of product development/brand management experience in skincare, cosmetics, or topical dermatology
  • 2-3 years’ management experience
  • Working knowledge of formulation chemistry and ingredient functionality for topical skincare
  • Outstanding oral and written communication, strong presentation skills, and the ability to set priorities and maintain organization as well as successfully drive others to complete priorities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
  • Travel up to 25-30%
