Project Manager

The Project Manager is a key member of Fusion’s US Product Design & Development team. This role is responsible for managing Fusion driven custom packaging development projects as well as providing technical support and expertise to design personnel.  The Project Manager oversees the design and engineering phase as well as the tool development phase of their assigned projects providing detailed management and involvement from project conception to product launch.  The Project Manager is responsible for managing and organizing all timing, milestones, technical information, and project documentation to ensure flawless execution.  Expectations include communicating daily with both the US-based development and engineering teams and with China based packaging engineers and operations personnel. The overall success of the role will be measured by ensuring that products meet or exceed expectations from a cost, timing, stakeholder requirement, and specification standpoint.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed timeline for assigned projects and all project related tasks; Ensure each step of agreed timeline is being committed to and completed by individual project contributors
  • Anticipate potential issues that may occur with a project and communicate with the appropriate departments to create a corrective action plan
  • Manage and assist in resolution of any project scope changes
  • Ensure proper mold and unit costing is provided to Fusion pricing team and provide support in understanding and navigating questions related to costing;
  • Manage technical drawing and die line requests and facilitate engineering approvals
  • Manage mold validation process to ensure Fusion China engineering team completes requested tasks as committed
  • Lead US project kickoff and China Engineering project kickoff meetings and ensure all appropriate documents are completed in a timely manner, this will include calls scheduled early mornings and evenings due to time difference with China based teams
  • Interact daily with key project stakeholders to ensure clear communication throughout the development and implementation process
  • Maintain all required project documentation
  • Lead or participate in other assigned projects as needed
Position Requirements‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, project management, supply chain, packaging or associated field from an accredited college or university; Master’s degree preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication; Fluent in Mandarin preferred (not required)
  • Minimum two years-experience managing complex manufacturing projects
  • Minimum two years-experience communicating directly with Asian-based factory, contract manufacturing, or operational facilities
  • Intermediate experience with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Beauty and/or cosmetic industry experience preferred
  • Experience with timeline software preferred (Gantt Charts)
  • Domestic travel expected two to four times per year for less than one week per trip; International travel (China) one to two times per year for one to two weeks per trip (travel demands may vary based on project assignments)
