Regional VP Of Sales

Job Description

The Regional VP of Sales will provide sales leadership and direction to assigned West Coast Sales Executives to ensure individual and regional sales goals are met. Sales Executives sell beauty solutions including color and skincare packaging, turnkey design/formulation/packaging services for both color and skincare, and on-trend formulations and packaging in a competitive and innovative marketplace. The Regional VP of Sales will work with executives to develop and execute a sales strategy to enhance market penetration. This role will interface with leaders across the organization including Purchasing, Packaging Development, Operations, Marketing and our China team to execute sales offerings to new and existing customers. The Regional VP of Sales will provide guidance and a framework to ensure a superior customer experience and a high retention rate of customers.

  • Develop and apply an in-depth understanding of Fusion’s processes/procedures and sales tools/systems to execute an effective long-term sales strategy
  • Monitor and take necessary measures to ensure adequate pipeline of opportunities for sustainable growth within the region
  • Prepare sales reports showing sales volume, bookings and areas of proposed customer base expansion
  • Support Sales Executives in business development; confer and assist in negotiating customer agreements
  • Manage hiring, training, and performance evaluations to develop team members to their full potential; set sales territories and goals; direct sales forecasting activities and appropriate employee performance goals
  • Analyze sales statistics to formulate sales policies and assist sales staff in promoting products and services; collaborate in planning marketing strategies and implementing marketing programs
  • Monitor and evaluate activities and products of the competition and report competitive market information to executive leadership
  • Meet with and maintain relationships with key customers; support assigned accounts and broaden footprint and presence within accounts
  • Examine and control expenditures of region to conform to budgetary requirements
  • Provide career development for employees through direct performance feedback and coaching
  • Lead or participate in other assigned projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related areas from an accredited college or university
  • Ten or more years of experience in a sales capacity with four or more years of experience leading outside sales professionals
  • Business-to-Business sales leadership with complex sales cycle and customizable product/high SKU count required; prior experience in the beauty industry is a plus
  • Proven record of building and growing a sales team and meeting/exceeding annual sales and profitability goals
  • Prior experience with China-based or global manufacturing is strongly desired
  • Salesforce knowledge is preferred but not required
  • Ability to travel up to 35% travel in your assigned territory and to attend industry trade shows
  • Ability to use assertive tact to instill a sense of urgency to project manage a new or existing customer
  • On-the-ground troubleshooting skills and the ability to clearly articulate the next steps to ensure all parties are aligned and a clear path is set
  • Ability to accept feedback from executives, then find a constructive and meaningful way to use feedback to resolve an issue or better align with the overall business strategy
